Diversity is having a seat at the table.
Inclusion is having a voice.
Belonging is having that voice be heard!
Our goal is to offer an outlet of escape from the stress and overwhelm of everyday life. We strive to help everyone, no matter their age, mobility or neurotype catch their breath and recenter physically, mentally and emotionally, allowing them to rejoin events, festivities and daily task they once avoided or left early due to overstimulation.
It all started with an unmet need. I am a Kingsport native, wife, momma, caregiver and advocate. My husband and I have been married for 19 years with 2 neurodiverse teens. We love “small town” living but grieve the lack of services available to our community.
Driving long distances to get the services we needed, it became clear it was time to be the change we were waiting for. One of the greatest fears of a neurodiverse parent is what their kiddo will do after graduation. If we hope for them to be part of the neurotypical community, we should ensure the accommodations and support they need are available! Another equally important aspect is community integration which requires dispelling any fear and misinformation the neurotypical community may have concerning the neurodiverse!
